IS RM5 million the MBL?

PRK sets the MBL (minimum bribe level) and everyone follows.

Chief spinmeister for the Pakatan Rakyat, Raja Petra Kamaruddin set the minimum bribe level for large conspiracies at RM5 million; that is what he claims is the amount offered to P.I. Bala to keep quiet.

Now that the minimum bribe level has been set everyone seems to be using it. The latest ‘big news’ on blogosphere is that coffee-maker-extraordinaire and personal-assistant-beyond-compare was offered RM5million to stop accusing that Anwar Ibrahim inserted his penis inside Saiful’s anus. That is to say they wanted him to drop the sodomy charge.

According to colourful blogger Parpukari, Soh Chee Wen, the tycoon linked to Anwar Ibrahim surfaced long enough to make the offer to Saiful’s cousin.

Given than Parpukari is a known red-hot Mahathir supporter with a penchant for spicing up his blog entries with lurid expressions one may be inclined to wonder if there is a kernel of truth in this proposition.

Well, made a few phone calls to deep throats within and without PKR and one thing for sure is that Anwar believes that he is on his last leg and is pulling out all the stops.

In fact, firebrand Kulim MP, Zulkifli Nordin made it patently clear that Anwar is launching a tirade against Prime Minister, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and even called for a special briefing to make sure that all his men are on the ball.

KENYATAAN AKHBAR / PRESS STATEMENT

I refer to the statement issued by YB Sivarasa Rasiah that appeared on the STAR today 10.11.2009 at page N. 17. He was quoted as saying “PKR leader DSAI’s warning to party members to leave and join UMNO is aimed at people like Zulkifli Noordin, whose actions are not in line with party policies”.

I wish to state that is YB Siva’s own interpretation of DSAI’s statement. It was clear from the meeting called by DSAI yesterday afternoon at his office attended by MPs from PKR that the main issue discussed was the new party’s strategy to launch an attack on the Prime Minister. The issue of toeing the party line was mention in passing, and at no time did DSAI mention it was meant to me. In fact, DSAI was happy that I remain the only MP from Pakatan that is consistent in raising matters of importance to the Muslim and Malays.

The split within Pakatan Rakyat is growing, in fact the three parties themselves are now crumbling like oatmeal cookies in the hands of a hyperactive three-year old.

When Zaid Ibrahim suggested Nik Aziz’s name as the first chairman of the formal coalition, Parti Rakyat, he was sending a clear message that Anwar is no longer a strength for the Opposition; Anwar is a liability in Zaid’s eyes.

No one came forward to give Zaid a smackdown so one can assume that the others Pakatan leaders are also thinking the same thought.

To add insult to injury, Zaid said that perhaps Lim Kit Siang can be the party’s point man for democracy and human rights and conveniently failed to give Anwar any mention except asking him to make this sacrifice by giving Nik Aziz leeway.

Given his desperate situation and a sodomy trial coming up, there is every reason to believe that Anwar will want to pull out all the stops to ensure his political survival. Asking So Chee Wen to fork out a piffling RM5million is hardly incredible, in fact I would venture to suggest that it is not only probable but also likely.

In fact this story was confirmed by bloggers with access to PKR inside information and they are gathering further and better information before taking this further.
